Chelsea is founded.

[1/19-BMR] Originally called Winnisimmet, It includes today’s Revere (then Rumney Marsh) and Pullen Point, but not Hog Island or Noddles Island. Residents cite “the difficulty and danger of passing the water” for separating from Boston. Chelsea is incorporated as a city on March 13, 1857.
